Coaches will be credentialed in IASF Level 1 stunts and tumbling (tosses are prohibited in Level 1) and Level 2 stunts, tumbling and tosses. The credentialing for level 1 and 2 comes in 2 parts:
Written Te st
Coaches are required to read through the attached written test materials for level 1 & 2 and answer the questions on the test on the attached answer sheet.Coaches are required to bring the answer sheet for submission on the day of the hands-on test.
Hands-On Test
The Hands-On portion of credentialing is to prove that coaches understand how to teach certain skills within each level. Coaches will neither have to perform these skills nor will be working with athletes during the testing. However, coaches will have to explain to the instructor how to perform each skill just as if one were coaching a team. The instructor will have a list of key points that each participant must cover in order to pass that skill and or level. Coaches do not have to cover the key points word for word as listed on the instructor’s paper. The instructor’s job is to validate that coaches cover in their own words the key points of each skill in order to teach proper technique and ensure that you know what you are talking about in order to keep the athletes safe.Coaches must score a 70% or higher to be credentialed at that level.
Coaches must pass the written and hands-on test of the level 1 component to be qualified to attend the same level 2 component credentialing. For example, one must be successfully credentialed as a level 1 coach for tumbling in order to be credentialed at level 2 tumbling. There will be a one hour lecture cum QnA (Question and Answer) session prior to the commencement of the hands-on test.
Coaches are required to be registered as a Cheerleading Association (Singapore) member to be eligible to attend the course.
